Those staircases are the defining problem. A lot of Inner West homes cannot be made single-level, so the honest conversation is often about whether we train for the stairs, reorganise which rooms get used, or both. We would rather have that conversation early than write a program that quietly assumes the stairs are fine.
Concord Repatriation General Hospital sits in the middle of this area, with a substantial aged health and rehabilitation service, so a number of people here come home from it. Picking up soon after a discharge, in the house rather than in a gym, is the point.
