Is Mum or Dad at risk of a fall?
Eight questions, two minutes. These are the same screening questions our physiotherapists ask at a first assessment — answer honestly and you’ll know whether it’s worth a conversation.
This check is a guide, not a diagnosis. One in three Australians over 65 falls each year — most falls are predictable, and most are preventable.
Answering for yourself? The questions work exactly the same — read “they” as “you”.
Has there been a slip, trip or fall in the last 12 months?
A guide, not a diagnosis. If you’re worried today, call — we’re open 7 days.
Why these eight questions?
Each one maps to a known falls-risk factor: a previous fall, reduced balance confidence, muscle weakness, medication load, dizziness on standing and home hazards. None of them alone means a fall is coming — but the more that stack up, the stronger the case for a proper assessment.
The good news is that almost every one of these factors responds to treatment. Strength and balance training is one of the best-evidenced ways to prevent falls in older adults, and doing it at home means we work on the exact steps, floors and corners where the risk actually lives. Read our falls-prevention checklist for the home-hazard side of the picture.
