Physiotherapy home visits in Westmead

Hospital country. A lot of clients here start with us the week they come home.

Westmead is defined by its hospital precinct, and so is a lot of our work here. People come home after a stroke, a fracture or a long admission, and there is a real gap between the ward physiotherapist finishing and anything starting again at home.

That gap is where deconditioning does its damage. We pick up where the ward left off, in the actual house, with the actual steps and the actual bathroom, which is a different job to a gym program written on a discharge summary.

The same physiotherapist comes back each visit, which after a hospital admission is worth a great deal. Someone who saw week one knows exactly how much has changed by week six, and says so plainly.
